"Impact of One" Discussion Guide

Recap

  1. How did you encourage someone, sharpen them, or share with them recently?

Main Thought

Sharing Jesus, and playing a part in someone else coming to know Him, is one of the most impactful things we can do on earth. There are so many opportunities to do this, but we don’t always take them. Jesus saw people in need of His love. His heart was moved with compassion. He prayed and acted in love by going to the Cross. God looks to use and empower people who are willing to see, feel, pray, and act like Christ. These individuals will make an impact that goes beyond themselves on earth and in eternity!

Main Passages

35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
- Matthew 9:35-38

9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.
- 2 Chronicles 16:9

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:19-20

Discussion Questions

  1. Think about someone you know who doesn’t have a relationship with Jesus. How would you describe the way Jesus feels about that person?

  2. Do you know three to five people who don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus? Write their names down somewhere, like in a prayer journal or in your phone. Spend five minutes every day praying for those people. Ask God for an opportunity to invite them to church, or to share the gospel and your testimony.
