Main Thought
One of the greatest truths conveyed by the Bible is that we, as people, are made in God’s image. God rules and reigns in all of creation. It was God’s will for us to rule and reign on earth. He mandated that humanity be fruitful and multiply; this was conveyed in a literal sense, but can also be applied in a figurative sense. Yet the process of ruling and reigning requires great work. We receive God’s strength to rule and reign when we first love God with all of our strength.

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Discussion Questions
What major life area feels like it’s out of your control? How might you be able to work toward ruling and reigning in a way that would honor God?
The Bible commands us to love God with everything we have. What holds you back from loving God and surrendering everything to Him?
Application
Surrender an “out of control” area in your life in prayer to God. Ask Him for breakthrough in that area so that you can begin to rule and reign.
